Ways to give to Nebraska AIDS Project
Matching gifts
Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. The amount of money you donate can often be doubled -- or even tripled -- by applying to your company's matching gift program.
If you are not sure if your company matches employee contributions, contact your Human Resources Director or Corporate Giving Officer to see if your employer offers a matching gift program. This simple step may easily increase your gift to Nebraska AIDS Project.
Workplace giving
Giving contributions directly to Nebraska AIDS Project is the simplest, most cost-effective way to support our work.
If you prefer giving through direct payroll deductions through your workplace, we are a member of Community Health Charities of Nebraska (CHC-NE) and receive donations from employee charitable campaigns across the state. There are some helpful guidelines at Community Health Charities Nebraska.
CHC-NE is a statewide fundraising federation dedicated to raising funds for Nebraska's health charities through workplace giving. Its volunteers raise money through workplace payroll deduction campaigns, company matching funds and corporate solicitation to benefit 18 member health agencies, including Nebraska AIDS Project.
In the Omaha metro area, you can support the Nebraska AIDS Project through payroll deduction by giving a gift to the United Way of the Midlands, which is a fundraising partner with CHC-NE. For more information how to give a gift, go to www.uwmidlands.org and click on "Resource Toolkit."
In the Lincoln area, you can support the Nebraska AIDS Project through payroll deduction by giving a gift to the United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County, which also is a CHC-NE fundraising partner. For more information how to give a gift, ask your employer for a United Way pledge form, where Nebraska AIDS Project is listed as a member agency.
Outside of Omaha and Lincoln, you may also designate the Nebraska AIDS Project through payroll deduction in any of the numerous campaigns conducted by CHC-NE statewide. Campaigns are held in many companies in Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings, North Platte, Fremont, Columbus and several other cities. Just mark the box for "Nebraska AIDS Project" on the pledge card. If your employer doesn't offer a CHC-NE Partnership Campaign for Health, ask about starting one, and the Nebraska AIDS Project will receive all the undesignated contributions for that year from your company!
If you are a State of Nebraska employee, designate our agency in the Community Health Charities of Nebraska "707" section of the state employee Charitable Giving Campaign pledge form.
If you are U.S. Government employee, mark our agency's code "26667" in the Combined Federal Campaign pledge form.
If you don't find the Nebraska AIDS Project listed in your company's giving campaign, you can write in our agency's name and address on your pledge card. Most United Way offices allow special designations to outside charities.
Thank you for supporting the Nebraska AIDS Project through our fundraising partners in Nebraska!
Planned giving
Planned giving allows you to make a charitable contribution to an organization through a plan that also addresses your personal, financial and philanthropic objectives. Planned gifts can also provide you with tax benefits.
Wills and Living Trusts
The simplest way to make a charitable estate gift is to include the charities of your choice in your will, either as outright gifts, or while also providing for family and friends.
Retirement Plan Assets
You may also be able to gain a tax benefit by naming Nebraska AIDS Project as a beneficiary of all or a portion of a retirement plan [IRA, 401(k), 403(b)].
Insurance
If you have extra life insurance coverage, you may consider transferring ownership to Nebraska AIDS Project. If you are purchasing a new policy, you may later name Nebraska AIDS Project as the owner and beneficiary. Either gift may generate a charitable income tax deduction.
If you have questions, or would like to discuss your gift with us, contact the Development Office at (402) 552-9260 ext. 142. Thank you for considering Nebraska AIDS Project in your planned giving.
