Nebraska AIDS Project has five offices in Nebraska (Omaha, Lincoln, Norfolk, Kearney, and Scottsbluff) that serve the entire state, as well as counties in southwest Iowa (Omaha office) and counties in southeast Wyoming (Scottsbluff office).
NAP’s professional case managers conduct a supportive process of assessment, advocacy, intervention, and monitoring to maintain a client’s maximum level of health, stability, and self-sufficiency. Case managers work with clients in strict confidence to facilitate links to medical and social service resources, to develop care plans, and to cultivate practical, social, and emotional support for people living with HIV and AIDS in our communities. Read about our commitment to anti-discrimination and creating an inclusive environment here.
Case managers start with a non-judgmental assessment of “where clients are” with respect to medical, psychosocial, financial, and daily living issues. Care plans and referrals to outside services are developed according to the client’s needs, strengths, and challenges.
NAP hosts support groups, client education, as well as education related to job and life skills, medication management, and reducing high-risk behavior. NAP offices can also provide food pantries, personal care items, and transportation.
NAP provides free, confidential or anonymous HIV testing and counseling with results available the same day.
